P.P.C.T. (Law Enforcement)
PPCT Management Systems is an internationally recognized authority on use-of-force training for criminal justice agencies, the military, and the private sector. Established in 1980, PPCT is best known for designing use-of-force training systems based on documented tactical, legal and medical research. Through its 27-year history, PPCT has created an organization that not only supports clients with training that is both effective and court defensible, but also supports the needs of their agency administrators and their legal counsel as well.
PPCT’s mission is to support its clients at three levels: first, to design and implement use-of-force training systems that are simple to learn, effective in the field and have minimal potential for injuries. Second, to support administrators with a model use-of-force policy and a use-of-force report form that are both consistent with PPCT use-of-force systems. And third, to assist in defending our clients in court proceedings. Support for court cases comes in the form of training management software that validates the training/qualification process, research studies that validate user actions or training, and available expert witness testimony to compliment the client’s in-house training team.
- Survival Learning Research: This unit examines research from educational psychology, motor learning science and neurobiology, and applies the research to the design of use of force systems.
- Tactical Handcuffing: Tactical speed handcuffing provides immediate subject control and reduces risk to the officer.
- Pressure Point Control Tactics: This unit will address a system of controlling subjects by applying as little as 2 pounds of finger touch pressure to selected pressure points on the head and neck.
- Joint Locks: Escort position resistance is one of the four most common types of resistance officers encounter.
- Defensive Counterstrikes: The defensive counterstrike unit teaches reflexive reaction to a physical attack when impact weapons or firearms are not appropriate.
- Handgun Retention and Disarming: This unit teaches a simple system of disarming and handgun or long gun retention.
