Dear ATA Branchburg members, families, and friends:

We are very excited to bring to you our 3rd annual Halloween Tournament. This years tournament will be held at ATA Martial Arts of Branchburg. There will be “introduction to competition” for Tiny Tigers. All Tigers will receive an award for their best efforts. Traditional competition will be held for Karate For Kids, Teens and Adults in forms, sparring, and weapons divisions. This years awards are one of a kind custom medals. And as always we highly encourage everyone to wear their customs to the competition.

We have planned lots of exciting entertainment on and off the competition floor. We encourage everyone to bring their friends and family members and we will make it a fun filled day for competitors and visitors alike. Youth Martial Arts Program

The Summer of Innovation is here! When you don’t Evolve you Dissolve! What you are doing today will soon be old news. Our goal with the Summer of Innovation Program is to help our students have an exciting summer of special events, great experiences and training sessions that will keep them motivated, improve their skills and create new friendships and memories that last forever! Below is an outline of our New Youth Martial Arts Program.

Basic Martial Arts
We start with Creating Champions from the inside.
Building confidence and learning Martial Arts basics
in small steps. Improving physical strength and becoming
champions.

Higher Level Training
We step up the training to a higher level program called the
LEADERSHIP Program. The students go up another level
and become martial arts athletes leaders in our community,
and champions in the game of life.

Character Development Program
Repetition of life skills in karate class, in the classroom, and at
home start to become a way of life.

The Black Belt Test
High performance martial arts techniques and a strong
character start to really develop to a high level. Students
turn into martial arts warriors. Fast, powerful, and confident
strong Black Belts.

Advanced Curriculum, Leading and Teaching
All Leadership students learn advanced techniques and begin
learning how to teach and lead others.

The Last Airbender Training Camp

We have another awesome event coming up in the next few weeks! We will have another chance to invite all of our friends in to take another great class themed after an up-and-coming martial arts-based movie, The Last Airbender!

Noah Ringer, the star of The Last Airbender is a 1st Degree ATA kid from Texas and he is going to be awesome in the movie! We’re going to have a special buddy camp on Saturday, July 3rd (9am to 3pm) for kids and it will be about Goal Setting and Perseverance. The characters in the movie, TV show, and books have a goal and meet many obstacles along their way and we believe that using them as an example will help teach kids to Never Give Up!

Airbender Jahng Bong/ Bo Staff Seminar!
Special Guest Instructor Mr. Lee Brings it!! We’ll do a Avatar-style Bo Staff seminar with awesome spins and strikes and maybe master the element of WIND!! Learn to use your Bo Staff like Aang the Avatar! We’ll use Bo Staff techniques and a themed weapons training class. Students will learn combinations that they can use to put into forms and make their weapons skills better!!
*Bo Staff NOT Included. Cost $35. Pre-Register Before June 30th and Save $5.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Lunch & Movie
We’ll watch as many episodes of Avatar as we can in 90 minutes. Don’t forget you can bring a friend too!! As long as they’re an Avatar fan!!

Avatar: The Last Airbender Stunt Training
Learn how to act and train just like your favorite Action Hero’s!!

Date: Saturday, July 3rd
Time: 9am – 3pm
Cost: $50 (Includes Lunch)
Friends Train FREE!!

IRON MAN Training Class & Pizza Party

Don’t miss out!! In honor of Iron Man ATA Martial Arts is hosting a Special Iron Man XMA Training Class and Pizza Party. FREE for all ATA students who bring a buddy. Bring a friend and go Xtreme. This Summer: Heroes Aren’t Born, They’re Built. Build up your Confidence, Discipline, Fitness, and Performance Levels. Our Iron Man XMA Training Class is taking flight Saturday, May 8th and all Month long!

IRON MAN – Family Movie Night

Join ATA Martial Arts of Branchburg Friday, May 7th to watch the premier of
IRON MAN 2!! We will begin pre-registration for the show starting Monday, April 26th. We are selling discounted tickets at the School so bring the entire family and tell your friends!! Movie times will not be announced until Wednesday, May 5th however; we are planning on seeing any show between 6:30 and 7:30pm. Don’t forget to wear your full ATA uniform.

*Parental advisory: IRON MAN 2 is rated PG-13 for sequences of intense sci-fi action and violence, and some language.

Kamen Rider Child Safety Tips

Last weekend, Bandai America Incorporated joined forces with ATA Martial Arts and Adness Entertainment to host a special Kamen Rider Child Safety Day. The action packed event at ATA Studios in Stevenson Ranch California drew over 65 kids and kicked off our “Join the Kamen Rider Revolution” Sweepstakes at ATA Martial Arts Schools nationwide where one lucky person can win the Grand Prize of training with Kamen Rider actors and Martial Arts Champions Mike Moh and Matt Mullins at XMA World Headquarters in Hollywood.

The unforgettable child safety event featured the martial arts skills of Mike Moh, star of hit TV show Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, combined with ATA’s Kidz ‘N Power curriculum, which educated children on ways to stay safe and fit. The first lesson was a simple break away self-defense instruction, then came role playing with possible stranger danger situations, lead by Master Scott Skiles and Mr. Jason Morgan of the ATA Training Division. You can watch scenes from the class and hear about 5 important child safety tips in the video from the event:

A second “action class” with ATA World Champion Mike Moh, demonstrated theatrical stunts from the show and a special ATA Xtreme Kamen Rider form.
In between classes we raffled away exclusive Kamen Rider “action packs” including our Kamen Rider action figures and role play toys, a Kamen Rider backpack, hat and t-shirt. Even the kids that didn’t win still got to play with the toys as we set up a fun toy table packed with lots of awesome Kamen Rider toys that everyone seemed to enjoy.

Even if you couldn’t attend the event in person you can also enter our sweepstakes online. In addition to the grand training day prize, theme park tickets and Kamen Rider toys are also up for grabs. No purchase necessary to enter and the promotion runs from November 7 through December 5, 2009 online at www.bandai.com/kamenrider. Many will enter, few will win.

Xtreme Camp – Day 2

Great job everyone! The Team Demo performance was Awesome! You guys looked great, and I know you all were working extremely hard all weekend long. We will be hosting another Xtreme Camp either the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving. So until then keep training hard and the sky is the limit!
